Transport to Oktoberfest

What: Oktoberfest 2023 / Where: Munich, Germany / When: September 16 – October 3, 2023 / Genre: All fun!

Oktoberfest is the festival for celebrating Bavarian culture, traditional German food and, of course, lots and lots of beer! It is the world’s largest beer festival and attracts millions of visitors from all over the world. But what is the best transport to Oktoberfest? We have made an overview.

Not sure if you want to plan a weekend to Oktoberfest? Then read in this blog why you should not miss Oktoberfest 2023! Did you know that if you book now, you’ll get a discount? Use the code oktoberfest20 and get 20% discount!

Proper toasting is done by looking each other straight in the eye, clinking loudly with the bottom of your beer mug and saying out loud ‘Prost!’ call!

Travel to Oktoberfest by PLANE

Flying into Oktoberfest can be a convenient and quick way to reach Munich. In addition, air travel can be more comfortable and enjoyable than driving or taking the train, especially for people who get carsick or claustrophobic. Finally, airlines often offer affordable fares during the fall season, making it a cost-effective way to visit Germany and enjoy the Oktoberfest festivities.

Flying seems to be the fastest means of transport to Oktoberfest, but you should not forget that you still have to travel from the airport to your campsite or hotel by public transport. In addition, flying is not very sustainable and you cannot take that much luggage with you.

Travel to Oktoberfest by CAR

Going to Oktoberfest by car can be a wonderful journey. A road trip with your best friends, bring lots of stuff and decide for yourself when you leave. Sounds ideal! It offers flexibility to plan your own schedule and pace. This allows you to explore the scenic routes and make detours to other destinations along the way. Having a car also provides a comfortable and convenient way to transport any necessary camping or festival gear. Plus, it ensures you don’t rely on public transportation or worry about public transportation schedules, which can often be limited during busy festival times.

But traveling by car does have a number of disadvantages. For example, you have to take toll and fuel costs into account, divide who drives when and drinking alcohol during the festival makes it unsafe to drive back. It can also be a hassle due to heavy traffic and limited parking options. More information about parking options can be found on the official Oktoberfest website.

Travel to Oktoberfest by BUS

Buses are a great option for getting to Oktoberfest. Traveling by bus is more comfortable than you think! Travel in luxury coaches instead of regular buses. Here you can sleep well on the way and drink a beer if you feel like it. Stow your belongings in the hold and sit next to your friends. You’ll travel with other Oktoberfest festival goers, so meet new friends in no time. Super cozy!

Traveling by bus is also sustainable and super cheap. In addition, we will drop you off in front of the entrance of the campsite, so that you do not have to walk long with your luggage. Last but not least, you are always on the same bus with your friends. Even if you have not booked at the same time. Can you see yourself already? Find out where your Maximal Trips Oktoberfest bus departs from and book now!

Going with the bus is definitely the most fun option!

Travel to Oktoberfest by TRAIN

The train is also a nice option for transport to Oktoberfest. It is cheaper and more sustainable than flying, but it does take a bit longer. In addition, you cannot go to Munich in one go, you have to change trains at least once. Which is not so convenient with all your luggage.

The train station is wonderfully located in the center, which makes it easy to travel to your campsite or hotel. Plan your trip well because the trains abroad can still run irregularly. Moreover, traveling by train is more environmentally friendly. Oktoberfest draws large crowds, and trains offer a convenient way to avoid traffic jams, handy!
