#1 Bullet for My Valentine
The metalcore band Bullet for My Valentine is from Wales and came together in 1998. The original name of the band was Jeff Killed John and they used to play mostly covers of groups such as Nirvana and Metallica.
#2 Heaven Shall Burn
Heaven Shall Burn was formed in 1996 in Germany. It is a melodic death metal/metalcore band. Their music includes lyrics about anti-racism and against social inequality.
#3 Killswitch Engage
The originally American metalcore band started in 1999. They have since won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards 3 times and have also been nominated several times for other awards.
#4 In Flames
In the late 1980s, the band In Flames was formed by Jesper Strömblad. The band is a melodic-death metal band hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden.
